Loot, Post Backlog & Camera Upgrade Needed

Mid-August Loot

Well, it’s about time I get to work on figure reviews, I’ve acquired three figures since last month that I haven’t gotten a review done for, and I’m also in the process of figuring out exactly what to order for this month. The problem is my budget is getting tighter these days for various reasons, one of which is that my son is in school now. I’m also in the market for saving up for a new camera. My old camera that I’m using for all my pictures right now is outdated and obsolete. I’m quite tired of it’s under par performance and battery diminishing gluttony. In fact, when I think about it I would be willing to bet just from all the batteries I’ve bought for it over the last couple of years I could have afforded a DSLR or the likes. I’m completely open to suggestions, though I’m not sure what my camera budget will be, and it will likely be months before I’m able to go get one. I want something that’s going to last and not run through packages of batteries like it’s dying of starvation. Of course, there are other things that I could hope for in a new camera as well. Oh yes, the loot backlog will be plucked away at soon.

Nendos After A Hail Storm

Aftermath of a Hail Storm

Today an onslaught of small to large thunderstorms came through our town. They each lasted around a half hour or so with about a half hour break in between them and lasted until just a while ago. During the worst part of the storm we had some rather large hail. I had been keeping an eye on the weather reports and it looked as if we were just going to miss one of the worst ones. I looked outside after I heard a clinking sound like a bottle being broken, and saw a lady swearing and running as a large chunk of hail landed and shattered within a few feet in front of her. Within a few seconds there were tons of icy chunks of hail falling down rapidly. There’s much more to be said, and I even took advantage after the storm and got a lot of pictures of my Nendoroids exploring the yard in the aftermath. Read on for the full story~

One Year of Animatic Figmation

Actually, I’m four days late for this, but that’s ok. Only July 20th, 2008, I started my first blog at blogspot, with the same name as this one. I wasn’t sure what I’d end up blogging about but I knew that I had figures ordered on the way and that I’d likely be blogging about them and anime that I watched. I wouldn’t have come up with the idea of blogging had I not been a lurker at DannyChoo.com. I also wouldn’t be here blogging now if it weren’t for the many people that have inspired me and visited my blog in the last year, no matter what their reason for being here was. I’d like to take this time to thank all of you. I’m not going to cite specific names, because if you’re viewing this blog for any reason then I thank you! It’s hard to believe that a whole year has gone by already. I wasn’t really prepared for the one year mark, which is why I’m a bit late. I don’t have statistics for you, in fact I don’t have any idea how many hits I’ve gotten, not even an estimate. It’s not hits that count to me though. What counts to me is whether or not the content that’s posted here helps, inspires or at the very least entertains someone out there. Anyways I do have a bit more to say, but for those of you uninterested I’ll cut short here, for those of you who do care, read on.

Kyouka’s Picnic

Kyouka's Picnic

So a couple days ago my son and wife dragged me out of the house for once, and I decided that since we were going to the park to have a little picnic I’d take Kyouka along with me. I didn’t know what to bring her with at first but I decided on my Clannad NDS pouch, and it worked well enough. It was a very hot day and we took a nice walk to the store for some food and drinks and went to the nearest park. Not the best park that’s for sure, but it was good to get out. Kyouka had a little too much fun with the strawberries and needed to take a bath when we got home.

Happy 4th of July

Sparkler Play '09

I know many of my readers are probably from a different country than the US, and I’m really not big on celebrating the 4th of July either. But, I do have a son who loves to watch fireworks. Riiana, however, is allergic to sulfur, which many fireworks let off large amounts of smoke with sulfur in it. So we don’t really do much in the first place, plus we had rain on and off all day. We took a little stroll in the rain and watched other people light off fireworks, and when we were home we lit some sparklers. Yeah, not much but I thought I’d do a little post about it just for fun anyways. I didn’t even get figures involved though I wanted to. So this is pretty much a non-ordinary post, and not a lot to see but I felt like posting it up. To those of you who live in the US though, happy Independence Day!
