MELL

Lately I’ve been watching Sky Girls, and I just thought hey it’s been a long time since I did a music post. Today I’m going to share some videos by MELL. I really like the electronic energy of her songs and I particularly like her dark style and the videos themselves. MELL is one of the main vocalists from I’ve Sound, which is well known for more popular members such as Kotoko and Mami Kawada. She has released 6 singles and only one solo album, and a live tour DVD in 2008. Check out her official website for more information. Read More
Happy Birthday Miku!

Time sure does fly, it’s already the Miku Hatsune’s 2nd birthday (or 18th depending on how you look at it), in Japan at least. Us fans here in the West are a little behind in time. This year I’m just going to post up some of my favorite Miku videos. I know I’ve been pretty inactive lately but life has been pretty busy. It’s somewhat related, but anyone else excited about the Black Rock Shooter anime? I think it’s pretty cool that Miku recently had her first “live” concert at Animelo and that they’re making an anime semi-based on a song that she sings. I know Black Rock Shooter isn’t Miku but I thought it relevant to mention since it’s a popular Miku song. Looking forward to next month’s (hopefully it’s not delayed) World is Mine Miku figure!

I’m finally getting around to blogging myself again, sorry for the delays in posting. Today I watched a very awesome live DVD of the J-Pop group Perfume, known for songs such as “Chocolate Disco”, “Sweet Doughtnuts”, and many other songs. I love this this group because all of their videos are so fun! They are a bright, vibrant trio of girls. I love the way their vocals mix together so well. I remember when I had first heard of this group I had seen a music video of them doing the song “Electro World” and my reaction was like “Who is this group?! I love this music!” and ” I have got to hear more from this group!” The music made me instantly want to get up and dance! And their outfits were so awesome, I remember seeing cyber-type looking outfits and awesome dance moves. For much more about them you can visit their official site here. Read on to see more! Music: Anna Tsuchiya

Anna Tsuchiya is a singer/actress/model from Japan, born March 11th, 1984 to a Japanese mother and Russian-American father. I first heard her music in the opening song to the anime NANA. One of the things that strikes me about her singing and acting is her attitude and the fact that many of her songs are sang in English, and some of them almost entirely so. Of course, I like to know more about artists then just what anime they played songs for, so I starting looking for more by her. I found two movies that I own now, “Kamikaze Girls” where she plays a female biker gang member and “Sakuran” where she plays a rebellious brothel girl; both very good movies I might add. Of course, that’s not all the movies she’s been in, but they quickly became two of my favorites. Anna Tsuchiya first made music as half of the group Spin Aqua, which only lasted a year and seven months. In 2005 she started a solo music career which is still going strong today. Her latest release was a remix album of her last LP “Nudy Show”. Much more about her can be found on Wikipedia and of course her official site.

Happy Easter for those of you who celebrate it! Today is a rainy/snowy day here so I guess I’m not going to be doing too awful much for it. Music: Mami Kawada
Posted by Persocom on Feb 12, 2009 in Music | 9 comments

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Mami Kawada. Perhaps because I just finished watching Shakugan no Shana II recently in anticipation of the coming new season, or because I’ve gotten sucked into To Aru Majutsu no Index. Either way, I love her music style. Ever since I first heard her song in Hayate no Gotoku I’ve loved her music. I didn’t know who she was at first though, because I had her confused with Kotoko. The reason being they often do songs in the same anime. They also make music for eroge together as part of I’ve Sound. It’s really a shame that there aren’t an abundance of pictures of miss Kawada to share with you, but I managed to get a few from last.fm, as well as these single album covers. Check out some of her PV’s from anime OP and ED songs that I like. I can also highly recommend all the anime mentioned here. Enjoy! Read More
