Signum Figma

Today I’ll be reviewing the fourth girl from Max Factory’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS Figma series, Signum. She was first seen in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s. For some strange reason her figure box has her name spelled as Sygnum. This is the first I’ve seen her name like that, so I’m going to stick with calling her Signum because that’s the name we’ve all come to know. I bought her from Hobby Search for 2,895 Yen, a bit higher than normal Figma prices go, but for good reason. Unfortunately she’s sold out there, and most likely sold out nearly everywhere else by now, though if you really want her I’m sure you can find her somewhere. The reason for the high demand is more than likely due to the sheer number of accessories she comes with. Read on for the full review.

Now for the low down on her accessories: 10 hands, 2 faces, 2 hair pieces, one sword hilt, one scabbard, one flame for sword, one chain for sword, 2 pieces of bow, and one arrow. All these make for one loaded Figma. The hands included are 2 fists, 2 normal hands for holding things, 1 fixed hand for holding things, 1 arrow holding hand, 1 sheath holding hand, 1 pointing hand and 2 open hands. The chain-link snake mode of her sword, Laevatein is easily the most interesting Figma accessory to date, as it is made on a flexible wire and not in a fixed pose, giving you freedom to move it however you like and keep it in that pose until you want to change it again. I’m pretty sure there aren’t any modes of Laevatein left out from this figure, and that’s pretty impressive. Also, her long ponytail is on a ball joint much like many other Figma, but this one also has a strange middle section that once you get over how it looks is pretty neat. Her ponytail can be twisted to face different directions, and with the extra front hair piece it works out pretty good. However, even though I realize these are great accessories (some of the best) I think one more face would have been great. Her barrier jacket also restricts her mobility quite a bit, but luckily it’s removable, thanks for the heads up on that Q. I’m excited to see the rest of the Nanoha crew get Figmatised, but so far I think Signum might be the most impressive of the bunch. If you’re a fan of bad-ass action figures with tons of accessories, or you’re a Nanoha fan, this is a great figure worth picking up.

Here’s a little video clip of Signum fighting Fate, from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s, thought it was appropriate for the review.

Nice review – finally opened mine but haven’t played with it much yet. The accessories is definitely the highlight of this figure.
Was it hard to remove the clothing? I don’t think I’ll bother, I reckon she looks better with the jacket and skirt

God fucking damn it, you don’t know how jealous I am of you right now >_<

mmm by far the best Figma weapons, although she is a pass for me. For figmas I need to know the character to like it.

Acesan Without a doubt the accessories are the highlight. It was actually pretty easy to remove the top part, but the bottom was a bit more difficult.
Snark – hmm, hopefully not as much as it sounds?
lovelyduckie – Meiya is the only one I don’t really know now, but I understand your reasoning. If I bought figures I didn’t know all the time I’d never have money for the better ones.
Is it posible to find her locally, and if not, Ill beat the S#it out of anyone who carries one and steal theirs. Heheh

She looks really good, amazing amount of accessories, especially for a figma. She has lovely oppai as well. XD

I wasn’t going to get Signum but your pics have made me reconsider.
Signum is surely a nice get. Wasn’t planning to get one in the first place but when I went to the recent ACGHK convention with litokid from DC.com, we’ve decided to buy one each. Still have yet to open mine as Gundam model backlog will take me a while to go through.
Nice action poses there, especially with the Schlange form!
Q´s last blog ..Nakano & Akihabara
I really think Signum is very cool! That’s a nice get!

I think Signum has more weapon accesories than any other figma.

I was supposed to get figma Nanoha Takamachi (jacket version) last July but for some reason I didn’t. I think figma Signum looks great! Love the colors and accessories.

Gunstray – I have no idea since I live in Colorado. Hopefully you can find her without having to hurt anyone XD
Marshmallow – I agree ^^
Action Man – Hope you like her if you do end up getting
Q – Thank you. I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep my order but I’m really glad I did, she’s a great get ^^
Wolfheinrich – yeah, I think she’s one of Riiana’s favorite characters from the series
phossil – I don’t bother comparing so I can’t be sure, but she’s definitely one of the ones with the most.
xine – perhaps you’ll be able to get her again later on. there are new versions of Nanoha coming out soon. I think Signum makes pink look tough ^^
Her Snake Sword is awesome but Im no fan of the Nanoha Franchise ^^;
I’m still waiting for mine, she’ll be my first figma.
I’d have to say that she will probably be the best figma from the Nanoha series for Levaentin’s snake form alone. Vita will probably come close in second with various forms of Graf Eisen, but it all comes down to the comparison betwen hammer heads and the snake sword.
I just recently picked her up myself from the most unlikely of places, CD Japan! When I ordered her a few weeks ago they had 3 left (2 after I ordered) so those of you wanting her should head over there to check if they still have her in stock!
I’ll likely be doing a review of her soon, as I have at least 3 figma reviews to catch up on >< Great photoshoot!
Yuuichi-kun´s last blog ..100 Comments!
wholy accessories, batman! that’s frikkin’ sweet. they included her bow! and it’s nice you can pose the snake mode however. as much as i like swords i think a pvc version with her bow might’ve been better than her sword…
flame thing looks like it just didn’t quite come out right, but i guess i don’t think i’ve seen anyone else do pvc flames very well either ^^; well poop, if only i still had some cash for figmas, i’d be all over this…
meronpan´s last blog ..メイドさんの日々 ~ Maid-san no Hibi
Blowfish – is that Yun Yun on your gravatar? snake form is awesome
GNdygames – great choice for your first! I can’t wait for Vita either
Yuuichi-kun – never shopped from them before, they pretty good? I’ve been getting behind on figure reviews too.
meronpan – the bow is definitely unique, not many PVC’s out there with a bow and I agree a PVC with Signum wielding her bow would be awesome, I’d consider buying that. True, the flame isn’t be best but it’s not bad for a Figma.
hi, I just wondering, how to remove the clothing..
for the top part, do I need to remove the arms?
if yes, in which section.. I’m afraid that I might break it..
also, for the bottom part, do I need to separate the upper and lower body? If I cannot do that, then how can I remove it
thanks a lot
neosonic – Yes you need to remove the arms, from the inside of the white shoulder poof things, leave the main arm ball joint in, take one arm off, carefully slip the jacket over the peg that the arm attaches to, then remove the other one the same way. Do be especially careful, and don’t bother taking the main arm ball joint out it’s too hard to secure back in again and risky. For the bottom part yes you need to separate the body, and that take time because the body joint is usually not very loose at all. Take your time and be careful, if you feel like she’s going to break just stop. Although it’s really cool taking her clothing off it’s not worth breaking her for. I was quite nervous when doing so, but I’ve never broke anything doing it yet. Hope that helps a little.
Already ordered mine and she’s on it’s way. Might get her tomorrow if I’m lucky. ^^
Love the review. It’s reviews like these, I succumb in getting my own. Thankfully cdjapan had a few more left and they took 10% off the RRP which was surprising so I HAD to get her. lol
