Meiya Mitsurugi Figma

It’s a long time overdue, but I’m finally reviewing Meiya Mitsurugi. She comes in her UN Troop Armor from Muv-Luv Alternative, a sequel to the original Muv-Luv. I haven’t played either of them so I really can’t say much besides what I’ve found out after searching around a little. Perhaps I’ll give the games a try some day. I bought her simply because I liked her armor and sword, she seemed like a pretty cool looking Figma. She was bought from Hobby Search for 2,533 Yen, and if you’re interested she’s still available for purchase. Read on for the usual.

Meiya comes with 8 hands, 2 faces, and her sword and scabbard. I feel that she should have had at least 2 more hands, especially since her hands are unique to only her. In fact, as much as I’d love to say lots of great things about this Figma, it’s a bit disappointing. Her ponytail is jointed and removable, as well as the ribbons in her hair. Her head is almost entirely unable to be moved upwards or downwards, which isn’t too unusual for Figma, but usually they can at least move a bit one way or the other. I really think she looks awesome, and that’s the main reason I bought her in the first place. The only really annoying problem with her was her hands. All her hands have no mobility at an upwards angle, which really limits the possibilities with posing her. Aside from that they fall out somewhat easy, so take caution if taking her outdoors. Meiya’s legs are very flexible, but again her feet aren’t so much because of their bulkiness. So all-in-all, this is a cool Figma, but it’s very limited in movement and accessories. I don’t consider it a bad get since she looks great, but she’s a bit of a challenge to pose. I’m actually more disappointed in the pictures I’m using in this review than anything. I’ll probably do a second take in the near future.
