Loot, Post Backlog & Camera Upgrade Needed

Well, it’s about time I get to work on figure reviews, I’ve acquired three figures since last month that I haven’t gotten a review done for, and I’m also in the process of figuring out exactly what to order for this month. The problem is my budget is getting tighter these days for various reasons, one of which is that my son is in school now. I’m also in the market for saving up for a new camera. My old camera that I’m using for all my pictures right now is outdated and obsolete. I’m quite tired of it’s under par performance and battery diminishing gluttony. In fact, when I think about it I would be willing to bet just from all the batteries I’ve bought for it over the last couple of years I could have afforded a DSLR or the likes. I’m completely open to suggestions, though I’m not sure what my camera budget will be, and it will likely be months before I’m able to go get one. I want something that’s going to last and not run through packages of batteries like it’s dying of starvation. Of course, there are other things that I could hope for in a new camera as well. Oh yes, the loot backlog will be plucked away at soon.

The first figure that I’ll be reviewing will be completely NSFW, as it’s a Queen’s Blade Revoltech Airi. I decided to not hide any of her details when taking pictures, and the review should be up soon. After that I’ll be reviewing a figure I doubt many have reviewed, a Toranoana online shop exclusive Remilia Scarlet figure. Then last but not least I’ll get back to the Figma world and bring you a review of the new Konata Summer Uniform Ver. Figma. I realize my blog has been slowly slipping away and it seems I’ve lost some of my reader-base due to inactivity, or perhaps for other reasons. I’ve been watching a ton of anime, so perhaps I will start doing more random anime reviews in the near future. I also really need to catch up on my blogroll, I’m way behind on reading other people’s blogs lately as well. My son started Kindergarten recently and that’s a wonderful stage in life that a parent shouldn’t miss out on. Sometimes things take priority and this is my main reason for the lack of posting lately. It looks like the H1N1 virus is getting more serious in the area as well, as of Sept. 1st there is now a confirmed case at my son’s school. Hopefully we can avoid it altogether and stay healthy through the entire Autumn and Winter this year. Well, I guess I’ll end this post for now, look forward to these three reviews soon!

Yeah, your son definitely takes priority; go and raise him so that he may go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb!
That said though, I’m definitely looking forward to the Airi review!
Snark´s last blog ..My Life is now Complete
I actually had Airi in my shopping basket in Japan, but I put it back at the end, I really should have picked her up then. As far as camera is concern, bridge camera would probably be your best bet, however, the Nikon D40 is on sale now due to the fact that Nikon just released their replacement model D3000, you may be able to pick up a good deal for D40 if budget is tight. Since I just went through the camera upgrade exercise, you are welcome to check my blog for the information.

Take care and drink more fluids!
Any entry level DSLR will be just nice to start out with. I am sure what every camera you buy, pictures will turn out great because DSLRs are just awesome!

I agree – family first. I am also worrying about virus as it is suppose to be the big kicker this year. the I am looking forward to the Airi review as well.
bluedrakon´s last blog ..Akina Aoshima
Just take your time and do your post when you feel like it and you got the time for it =D And I’ve been watching a lot of animes too recently… xD
Kazearashi´s last blog ..MikuFES’09 Performances
Snark – Yeah, I’ll teach him to believe in himself who believes in me or something like that ^^
Wolfheinrich – hm, Nikon D40 does look like it might be the best bet. Bookmarking that post for reference.
kodomut – thanks, will try and stay healthy as best as possible. Yeah, DSLR is definitely the way to go, I need to shop around and see what prices are like around here.
bluedrakon – yeah it’s got me a little more worried now that there’s an actual confirmed case at my son’s school.
Kazearashi – I guess I just feel a little guilty that I’m not keeping up with the blog as well as I planned at times. Oh well, I’m getting to posting when possible. Watching lots of anime is a good thing, especially this season, a lot more impressing me than I originally expected.
The camera upgrade is worth it, especially for bloggers who takes lots of pics (ie us). Entry level DSLR is the way to go…
Acesan´s last blog ..Magical Girl Lyrical Fate 4Koma – 11 – Priorities + September Loot
Acesan – yeah I think it’s about time I start focusing on upgrades. I need it.
I’m not very familiar with Nikon’s entry-level bodies, but one of the Canon Rebel models (400D or 450D, maybe) would probably work well
