Flandre Scarlet 1/8 PVC coming late February!
Very recently I found out that Griffon Enterprises were making a Flandre Scarlet 1/8 PVC figure via MyFigureCollection.net. Yesterday De JaY informed me that she was up for pre-order up at AmiAmi for 18% off, and I immediately sprung on the opportunity. I know I don’t normally post these type of posts, because I don’t consider my blog a source of figure release news in any form or way, but I’m too excited about this figure to not post about it. For quite some time I’ve been wishing that I could get my hands on a full scale Flandre, or at the very least a jointed one. From the prototype pictures I’m quite happy with the way they decided to make her. I might actually order her sister Remilia now that I know I can have them side by side. The only figure I’ve been this excited about in a while is Black Rock Shooter, which has been delayed since August, and I’ve been disheartened by the further delay enough that I’ve lost the excitement, at least until I see the preparing for shipment notice in my inbox. Anyways, I’ve been planning a few Touhou posts but never got around to them, now is as good a time as any.
Unless I decide to buy Remilia while I’m waiting for Flandre’s release, this will be the first figure I’ll have bought that was made by Griffon Enterprises. I don’t know a whole lot about Griffon, but I’ve seen some nice looking figures by them. I’m hoping the quality turns out as expected. Flandre is my most favorite character out of the Touhou Project series, so finally seeing a figure I can buy that isn’t Japan exclusive and suits my tastes is great news. I’m also quite excited about AmiAmi now extending their services to other countries. I was planning on picking up Remilia and Flandre mini figures by Pink Company not long ago, but decided to hold off on it because I didn’t want to spend the extra money for a proxy service at the time. Waiting sometimes pays off, because now I can buy them without the added prices of paying for such services. I’m slightly obsessed with Flandre, and though I’ve been holding back, I have a post or two I’d like to do about her and her sister Remilia. Well, doubt anybody cares about this post but I had to get it out of my system. Flandre Scarlet 1/8 PVC must get! I’m still going to continue my hunt for the Liquidstone action figures though. I guess that’s enough rambling, now for the wait!

She really is awesome. I’m really looking forward to her release. As for Griffon’s Remilia, I don’t like her that much. That’s basically because of her ragged wings. They don’t really suit that figure. Plain wings like in most Remi Artworks would look better on that figure. You know, I love Remi. She’s my favourite. But that one… no thanks.
About Griffon’s quality I can’t say much. The only Griffon Figure I own is . But she’s great in every aspect. Hope it’s a standart they’ll keep with the Touhou Figures as well.

De Jay – yeah the wings on Remilia are the main turn off for me too, the only reason I didn’t already order her to be honest. Maybe I’ll save myself the money and wait for a better one in her case. That Mikuru looks great and I also hope it’s the standard that they’ll keep with all the Touhou figures. Next ones I want to see made are Suika and Cirno.

Blowfish – that’s alright, I’ll be sure to do a post about her before she arrives though. Yeah quality varies, found a couple reviews of other figures from this series and it seems a couple of them were somewhat poorly done compared to others. I’m going to take my risks though as this is a character I’ve been dying for a figure of.
I did pass the announcement for this figure. She’s impressive.
I hope for you that the quality will be there.

The stuff on the wings look as if they are glowing, which is rather interesting, but the way the wings look is kinda off-putting to me in general. Face sculpt looks good to me though!

lovelyduckie – she’s not really limited, not like the Figma Reimu and Nendo Reimu and Marisa at least. That’s what drives me nuts, but luckily now that AmiAmi has opened their doors to overseas customers, us Touhou fans can get our hands on all kinds of goodies that were harder to get before with less stress on the bank account ^^
