A Dream Within – Custom Busou Shinki Clothes

You may have noticed I’ve quickly become obsessed with Busou Shinkis recently. Today I’m going introduce you all to a small shop that I’ve recently made some purchases from, and also a new little hobby of mine: dressing up my Busou Shinkis. I became a member over at Busou Shinki World and quickly found many people actually make clothes for their Shinkis, and after a while I started thinking it would be an interesting idea to try out, only I don’t have the talent to create tiny clothes for figures, or at least the confidence to attempt making my own. Through BSW I came across Rytearik, who runs A Dream Within clothing store on Etsy. Today I would like to showcase some of the custom outfits she designed specifically for my shinkis. I’d like to mention that she also makes clothing for BJDs, and aspires to make custom Busou Shinkis among other things.

This is Valona’s new gothic lolita dress. This was the first commission made for me, as I thought Valona would look good in this style of clothing. As you can see the bows work well with her hair and she even has little stockings. The dress snaps on in the back and the material it’s made from doesn’t inhibit her movement in the least bit. I am quite happy with how it all turned out, and I was even able to ask Rytearik to make changes before making the payment.

Tigris also got a new punk outfit. I thought Tigris seemed like the angst driven punk type of character so punk clothes fit her personality. The shirt and skirt both slip on easily with nothing required besides the removal of hands and head beforehand. The skirt has a little chain attached to red beads, and the shirt has little X’s painted on the sleeves. The paint gives it a more DIY punk feel, and I rather like the entire outfit. The only thing missing now are some shades.

Next we have a white long-sleeved shirt with lace trim and a pair of bloomers for Juvisy. The shirt buckles in the back with two little beads and fits over the front of the figure. The bloomers just slide right on. The shirt was a freebie included in the first order (Valona dress and punk clothes) and the bloomers I decided to have made to go with it, and I’m quite satisfied with them. I really like Juvisy’s “armor” version legs and I do think that this outfit looks great with her using them.

Last up we have a pair of pajama tops and pajama pants for Valona again. With her being my first Shinki, and a succubus I thought it appropriate for her to have sleeping clothes. What’s a sleepy succubus without proper nightwear? It’s nice to have options as well. All of the pajama pieces slide on with ease and fabric is easy to move around in.

I have to say, even though this is a new hobby to me, it’s quite fun. Having custom clothing made for my Shinkis is fun and exciting, and gives me yet another way to enjoy each figure. If you’ve ever thought about buying clothes for your figures or perhaps you own some dolls that could use a new wardrobe, I suggest checking out A Dream Within. The order making to delivery time isn’t bad at all, they got here within a few days after they were completed, though I’m in the same country and that makes a difference. Clothing has various prices depending on how much work is involved in the making of them, but I find the prices to be quite cheap compared to what I expected, and very reasonable even for the most expensive pieces. Keep in mind Shinkis aren’t her main thing, she usually makes clothes for BJDs but I had seen some of her own personal shinki clothing and couldn’t resist asking if she would be willing to make them for others.A Dream Within is in the US, but orders can be delivered overseas. I urge anyone interested in her Shinki or other BJD clothing to check out the store, and see what other things she has to offer. Her works are also in theA Dream Within Flickr group if you’d like to see more. I was so satisfied with my first order that I made and received a second one before even getting this post done, so that should say something. One last thing to add, is that you will be able to see the product and ask to make changes if needed. I look forward to showing you more of her works in the near future.

Nopy – I’ve actually become interested in making my own now, but I’m still not ready to give it a try.
lylibellule – I’m sure if you wanted them for a specific figure she could likely do it ^^
anon.object – Do take a look at what she has in her store, and keep in mind she takes commissions. If you have any ideas in mind, you could always shoot them her way and see if she would be able to do it.
I like that you think. Thank you for share very much.

I loved valona’s dress
Gothic fits her very well!!! Maybe I can start one for my nendos
chubbybots – I could picture Ein in a gothic dress
The clothes are nice. Reminds me a bit of dolls but not quite at the same time lol. The clothes look more realistic than doll clothes in my opinion.

I love Valona’s gothic lolita dress. It fits her well and the cloths are really well made. She looks good in black. ^ ^
