Leina Revoltech (NSFW)

Reina

Another Queen’s Blade Revoltech figure, Leina is #001 in the QB line. I bought her from AmiAmi for 2,168 Yen, again taking advantage of their half-off shipping. If you’re unfamiliar with Leina (also known as Reina), she’s pretty much the main character of the Queen’s Blade anime (both seasons). Leina isn’t quite as good as newer releases but I think she turned out alright. Anyways if you’re interested she’s still around at AmiAmi as of writing this, among other places. Read on for more wandering warrior goodness, just keep in mind like all other Queen’s Blade reviews, this is slightly NSFW.

Leina comes with her sword, scabbard, shield, battle damaged armor and two extra hands and an extra face. Of course she has the standard QB Revoltech base with her name and number on it also. The scabbard actually has a hole in it to fit it in a small Revoltech joint that goes in her back armor plate. This makes for more freedom with moving the scabbard about, and gives a realistic touch. Her faces aren’t the best, but certainly aren’t the worst of the QB Revoltechs. I actually don’t mind how they look but I’ve heard a lot of people complain they weren’t good enough. It all comes down to preference. I would have preferred perhaps a third face with a closed mouth at the very least, but I’m satisfied. Her shield’s handle comes off so you can slide it into her hand and then re-attach it and slide the shield up her arm. I always liked the almost shuriken-esque design of her shield. Her front armor piece consists of the breastplate and loincloth connected into her belly by two pegs that go into holes. I think this is where things get a bit ugly. If you fully remove the armor you’re left with an unsightly belly only because of the placement of the holes. Her belts all over her armor are attached to the back plate which also has a hole in it to connect her to her base. Her back is just fine but the back plate attaches in the backs of her shoulders by two more small holes which are conveniently in the belts around her shoulders. The only real problem I see with the belts is that they look odd, at least the ones attached to her arms. They are flexible, but they don’t really stay in place. Her braids are also just barely flexible, and I would not advise messing with them too much. Last of all, her breasts well, they aren’t the best looking ones I’ve seen but they’re not bad for an action figure. Overall Leina is pretty good, and when you consider she was the first of the Queen’s Blade Revoltech line, Kaiyodo did a decent job for their first time.

I recommend Leina for anyone who likes sword wielding warrior women over sword wielding moe girls, or just general Queen’s Blade fanatics. She’s not the best in the batch but the line wouldn’t be anywhere near complete without the heroine herself, and she came out fine in my books. Sorry, no extreme NSFW ecchiness this time, but I’ll make up for it soon enough, just you wait.

Damn the local stores, Im only one year below the age limit, and I wanted the Airi fig, oh well, I atually like Reina’s alternate face the most, that and the belts look good.

Btw Reina sounds better, in Filipine lang, Rayna(well the way you say it is the same) means Queen

Gunstray – that sucks about the age limit :/ Yeah her alt face isn’t bad at all. I also prefer Reina for some reason, I was originally going to use that but then her box and base both say Leina on them. Interesting information about the name :)

  3. First of all: I really don’t like her face.
    It’s somehow very low quality.

And those holes in her body… for an cast off very bad.

GREW – yeah I’m not fond of the holes, but I guess she’s not truly meant to be fully cast-off, more of just a battle damage thing. It’d have been a lot better had they not had holes and figured out a different way to make it work.

  5. Like others, I thought the face could’ve been done a lot better. It just doesn’t look right to me.

Nopy – well she did suffer the fate of being the first of the line, and they’ve improved upon the faces as they went I think. Perhaps they’ll make a better version some day but they got a lot of characters to go first.

True its not the best figure quality, but you do bring out that extra good quality if you know what i mean =)

    Nice photoshoot!

lylibellule – yeah it’s really not so bad since she’s not meant to be cast off that much anyways.

  12. She’s very busty. I like her better with her armor on though, but a very decent figure.
