Miku Hatsune Dakimakura (NSFW)

So, just a little while ago the USPS delivery man knocked on my door and delivered a small enveloped package to me. While I was signing for my package he asked me what I bought from China. Of course, I hesitated and said “shirts and stuff”, knowing full well that the package said pillow case right on it. He thought along the lines of Jerseys, sorry new Mr. postman, but I was caught off guard by being questioned about my hobby. Otakuism isn’t big here at all apparently. Anyways, I got a bit of a surprise when I opened the dakimakura. It wasn’t exactly as advertised. The front side was just fine, but when I flipped it over, there weren’t any shimapan like I had expected, nope, she was in full nopan mode and rather than her top barely covering her breasts, they were fully exposed! Whoa! I’m still not sure what kind of feedback to leave, why don’t you all help me decide? Do not go beyond this point if you’re at work, are underaged, or just don’t desire to see 2D nudity.
So the store on Ebay, yeah I bought it from Ebay, thanks to recommendation from someone on DannyChoo.com was Zephyr toy store. It cost me $65 and about $15 shipping, which still adds up to be a fair amount, but in comparison to a full price dakimakura I guess it was a good deal. I was informed that the seller occaisionally puts them up for bid much cheaper (around $40) but alas I’m impatient and don’t like to wait for a good deal when I can get something now. Definitely a habit I need to learn to control better.
What I expected...
First off I want to show the original picture straight from the Ebay seller’s item description page, so you can compare and see what I mean about it being different from what I expected. As you can see, breasts covered, although she’s in a quite provacative pose on the backside of the dakimakura, she is clothed. When originally thinking about buying this I considered the fact that it was ecchi, but wanted to have something that I could display without difficulty. At least one side is clean and displayable to the few visitors we get once in a while without worry. I can’t say I don’t like the alternative side, I’d be lying if I did, but it’s not what I was expecting to see when I flipped her over. Oh, and I should tell you this dakimakura has a zipper opening in the bottom, unlike the previous Feena dakimakura I got. Also, I must say that I was quite aware there were two different versions of this dakimakura out there, the one that was pictured and the one I received. Perhaps the seller made a mistake? I think I’ll send him a mail asking.
What I got…
So what do you think? Should I leave negative or positive feedback on this? I like to be honest, everything about the transaction and delivery time was great and accurate, but the product picture wasn’t accurate, and I’m sure not everyone who buys a dakimakura wants it to be exposed. Can’t say I mind too much though I guess. Was kind of hoping the shimapan was there though, since shimapan rock. I guess I’m doing my part by doing this little review about it, because now you know where to get your nopan Miku Hatsune dakimakuras, haha. I guess I’ll end this with some more detailed shots so you can see what she looks like up close in person.
Well, that’s about all I have to say/show you for now. Still going to be making a pillow for the Feena dakimakura later this week. For those of you interested in acquiring this dakimakura, if you might be, the price is quite reasonable and if you’re lucky you can find it even cheaper than I did, from this seller on Ebay. You may, however, want to inquire as to whether or not the one he’s planning on sending you is wearing pantsu.

Ohhh a naughty one! I wouldn’t have enough guts to proudly display the ecchi side myself lol. I bought from Zephyr toy store before too, their quality seems ok. But yeah, check with the guy and see what he says about the mistake.
I love Feena dakimakura, so good that I have 3 of them now lol.

I’d say you should leave a negative; it wasn’t what you paid for. It might have been lucky that it was pretty damn similar, but it’s still ultimately not the product you ordered and paid money for.

Message the seller and tell them you did not get what you ordered and explain it, only if you really want the original version. Very odd that you didn’t get exactly what was on the auction though. Could of been a slight mix-up with someone else who ordered one. Of course I never even knew they had a nopan and exposed chest version. If they don’t want to correct the mistake and your upset and don’t like it then give negative feedback. If you are ok with the mistake then leave neutral. I would not leave positive.
I’ve got three from Zephyr now and they are all exactly like what the auction showed(including the Miku which I posted on Dannychoo.com). The quality is excellent, not just ok. I’ve seen and felt the official $100 Miku dakimakura. I feel and see no difference between it and my $40 one ^^;
Ha! I have the very same pillow case. No pillow yet though. I actually haven’t figured out where in Japan I can get them.
Maybe the seller was trying to give you extra service by giving you the ero one
. I say, judge whether you like the ero one better or worse than the family one. If you like it better give him a positive rating, if not then give him a bad rating.

Hmm, Well, I got home from work last night and was quite surprised by this dakimakura, can’t say that I don’t like it, but, I also love the shimapan. Not sure what to think quite yet, but that aside, I think I will put the non-ecchi side on display on the wall now.:)

Though the nudity is a bit distracting, I find myself really attracted to how beautiful the face is drawn. Love it!!
Really pretty art on that dakimakura, and the nopan is a kinda cute surprise. I’d leave the seller a neutral feedback, if you haven’t already, since it’s not exactly as described. Or possibly a negative, but I’d only give it a negative for the reason I wouldn’t buy a dakimakura from a Chinese seller, they’re all bootlegs.

aaroninjapan09 – nice, I don’t know where to get a proper sized one here either, all I can find are 2 foot pillows, so I’m just going to be making my own for now, if that doesn’t satisfy me then I’ll break down and order one somewhere I guess, but shipping costs more than the actual pillows.

Contact the seller and see if anything can be done about it. Leave the feedback until later when it’s known whether it’s an accident/intentional, and/or seller is planning to/not to send the correct item instead.

@Persocom, yea, I am down with the Feena fam Earthlight fever, also known as FFEF. She is rising rather fast to the top end of my of favorite girls. I would be embarrassed to list out all of her collector’s item I currently have now, total of 5 dakimakruas (at least 2 of them are duplicate of the G’s 15), bath towel, cushion covers… no I better stop counting. After playing her game only add more fuel to the fire, and I still have moonlight cradle I have yet to touch, I don’t know what I would do after I play that lol.

I dunno… I don’t mind having that one even if it is a mistake ^^; I’d leave a positive, but wasn’t there an option for something about it being inaccurate. I don’t really want the hassle of going through returning and waiting for another one. But yeah email them first and maybe you can haggle a little bit of a refund from it since you didn’t get the one you wanted ^^

I’d leave a negative (if the seller doesn’t try to fix it somehow), unless you’re really happy about the error. Feedback is there to let other people know if they’re going to get what they paid for.

Well they’re good to see once in a while, but it is not something that I’d like to put on my bed and use it everday…. (lol that sounds wrong… i mean, use as in hug and sleep every night… lol)
I guess you should try to contact the seller again and ask questions regarding this…

Personally… I’d be miffed… Specially as I love shimapan too. And if I expected shimapan and didn’t get shimapan… well… miffed…. I’d probably leave neutral feedback or ask for a replacement… depends how much it cost.

Kazearashi – don’t worry I think most people would normally use them for hugging and sleeping with in a non perverted way, because they are very comfy. I agree this ecchi could be a bit much sometimes, because I do have a son and it’s nice to have a mom who’s doesn’t mind these sort of things but there has to be a line drawn sometimes
