Steel Staff Ymir 1/8 PVC by MegaHouse (NSFW)

Ymir is back at her worst, having given in to her dark side. The greedy dwarven steel princess Ymir from Queen’s Blade, back for the Rebellion, is brought to you in 1/8 PVC form in the Excellent Model CORE series by MegaHouse. Now brandishing twin axes and dual-wielding them with articulated arms and hands, the cute little Ymir turns bad, and the result is spectacular. I bought this figure from AmiAmi back when she released in late March of this year, for 5,540 yen. At the time of writing this up, there’s 1 in stock there, but I must advise you that she’s on sale at HLJ right now for even less. This is by far my favorite rendition of Ymir to date. Ah, just to remind you, this is a Queen’s Blade figure, so it’s NSFW! Now on to the review! Read More
Aldra 1/8 PVC by MegaHouse (NSFW)

For my first review with my new camera, I decided to break out my latest 1/8 PVC figure Aldra, by MegaHouse. She comes from the world of Queen’s Blade, which is spread between visual combat books, drama CDs, manga, anime and even a trading card game. She’s quite a special character in the series because she is the queen, and that’s all I’ll say to save from spoiling for people who are strangers to QB. I bought the figure at HobbyLink Japan during the MegaHouse Mega-Sale that’s still going on. If you’re the least bit interested in this figure, pick her up before stock runs out, she’s only 1,800 Yen! A whopping 70% off the regular price, this is a deal that can’t be passed up. They also still have the 2P color version in stock, but she’s not quite as cheap. As a recently addicted Queen’s Blade fan, this was too awesome of an opportunity to hold back from. Read on for the review, and watch for meat-rending blades. This is a NSFW review, kiddies turn back now. Read More
Black★Rock Shooter 1/8 PVC by GSC

She arrived on the 26th, a huge brown box delivered to my door. I signed my name, took the box and opened it. It took me a few minutes to just admire the box and realize that Black★Rock Shooter, who I intended on buying for my birthday present back on the 11th of August, was here in my hands at last. Her frequent delays pushed her all the way to December. I think I learned a lot of patience while waiting for her. I had pre-ordered her the minute I knew the pre-orders were opened and I was determined to not cancel her under any circumstances. Hobby Search was my retail outlet of choice. EMS shipping, though expensive, the only option. Do I regret the price tag of 8,867 Yen (roughly $97) plus the added expense of EMS bringing the grand total to $140 and some odd cents? Hell no. She is currently sold out, though there’s a Black Blade version coming next year you could pre-order which is quite a bit cheaper. Read on for a full review, with pictures and her back story. Sanya V. Litvyak by Kotobukiya

Yesterday the postman delivered Sanya V. Lityvak (from Strike Witches) to my door, after a few days of traveling here from Japan via Hobby Search. I had thought about getting this figure but recently my figure purchases have been cut down quite a bit and I thought I’d hold out and see if I could get this one for a deal. Somehow it worked out perfectly because they had a sale and I got her for 2,720 Yen, which is just around the price of a Figma, rather than her normal price of 6,800 Yen. As of writing this she is sold out on Hobby Search. If you’re interested in this figure at all, read on. Though it’s not really NSFW, I wouldn’t suggest reading on if you’re at work though.

Very recently I found out that Griffon Enterprises were making a Flandre Scarlet 1/8 PVC figure via MyFigureCollection.net. Yesterday De JaY informed me that she was up for pre-order up at AmiAmi for 18% off, and I immediately sprung on the opportunity. I know I don’t normally post these type of posts, because I don’t consider my blog a source of figure release news in any form or way, but I’m too excited about this figure to not post about it. For quite some time I’ve been wishing that I could get my hands on a full scale Flandre, or at the very least a jointed one. From the prototype pictures I’m quite happy with the way they decided to make her. I might actually order her sister Remilia now that I know I can have them side by side. The only figure I’ve been this excited about in a while is Black Rock Shooter, which has been delayed since August, and I’ve been disheartened by the further delay enough that I’ve lost the excitement, at least until I see the preparing for shipment notice in my inbox. Anyways, I’ve been planning a few Touhou posts but never got around to them, now is as good a time as any.
