Marisa Kirisame Figma

Marisa Kirisame

Gensokyo resident witch Marisa Kirisame recently (*cough* back in April) released as a Figma by Max Factory. Of course, being a bit of a Touhou Project fanatic (not to mention I’m fond of witches) I had to pre-order her the minute she went up at Otacute. She’s not too easy to buy now though, and I really don’t know of any store that is currently taking orders for her. You might have to do a little bit of searching if you want her. I know this is the first Touhou Figma that I’ll be reviewing, but I do already own Reimu. Due to having a backdrop that I wanted to use already sitting around I found it easier to give Marisa her time in the spotlight first. Marisa is the most frequently seen Touhou Project character next to Reimu, so it’s only fair that she be the second Touhou Figma released. I promise I’ll do a Reimu review soon. So, do you believe in magic?

Cute Figma

Cute

Early this year, I bought a PSP, and one of the reasons for finally buying one was so I could buy and play the Queen’s Blade Spiral Chaos game. I should have done this months ago but hey better late than never right? I’ll review the game and the goods that came along with the game at a later time. Today I want to focus on the bundle exclusive Cute Figma. Cute is a Queen’s Blade Spiral Chaos original character, who hasn’t to my knowledge been introduced into the QB world in any other form or way yet, and might not ever. She is the lead heroine in the game, who travels alongside her companion Jean. I’m not going to go into great detail about her though. I’ll save that for the game review. I bought the bundle from Play-Asia, and though the box arrived in bad condition, the figure and everything else was in good health. Though the bundle itself is out of stock/sold out everywhere I’ve looked now, you can still pick up the game by itself there, among other places. Slight warning: there is a moderate level of ecchi, but this review has no nudity. You decide whether or not it’s NSFW. Now on to the figure review!

Fate Testarossa Figma

Fate Testarossa

It’s been a while since I did a Figma review. In fact, this particular Figma I’ve had for some time now. This time I’m reviewing the young Fate Testarossa from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st. I bought her from AmiAmi a few months ago, for 2,150 Yen. She’s still available there if you’re interested in picking one up for yourself. Nearly two years ago I bought the first Fate Figma released, and did a really bad (in comparison to now) review of her, you can still see here. Well, on to the review!

Saber’s Bubble Struggle

Saber's Bubble Struggle

Whew, 8 days without a post, what’s wrong with me? I have plenty of things to post so I guess it’s time to get back into the swing. I blame it on the weather. It’s been either too hot or too stormy to be motivated to do anything. I really don’t enjoy Summer as much as I’d like to. Anyways, some of my Figmas have been on the shelf doing nothing but collect dust, and sometimes one or two in particular gather a bit too much dust because I get lazy with dusting things that aren’t on my desk (which is mostly PVCs, Revoltechs and Shinkis). Saber in particular had a lot of dust build up to the point where dusting just wouldn’t do the trick anymore, and I plan on using her in a post doing battle with a Busou Shinki soon, so I had to get her cleaned up. I decided it’s about time I introduce another category called Figure Fun, rather than just using Figures for every post that has figures in it. I’ll also break figure posts into the category of Figure Reviews, that way you know what to expect a little better. I guess I should have done this long ago.

Yui Hirasawa Figma

Yui Hirasawa Figma

So during my orders last month, I got Yui Hirasawa one day in my mailbox via SAL through Hobby Search. She’s the first figure to come to me using SAL shipping from them. The wait wasn’t too bad, I think it took about two and a half weeks and I had all but forgotten about it by then. In case you don’t know, Yui is the main character from K-On!, which will be starting up a second season already this Spring. Orders for Yui were closed within a very short period of time the same day she came up for pre-order, and her April re-release is already reservation closed. If you really want her, you’ll have to wait for another re-release, or hunt her down elsewhere.
