End of March Figure Loot
Posted by Persocom on Mar 31, 2010 in Figures | 11 comments

Well, as I said earlier in the month, March was one of the craziest months I’ve had in quite some time. I decided to do one last post to see March off by doing a cumulative loot post. I haven’t posted all the things I got this month, too much has been going on to keep up with it all. So, completely ignoring the whole lame April Fool’s crap I’ll just be doing this instead. Will try and get caught up on reviews soon. So many things to review I don’t know which to do first. I seriously question my sanity when seeing how much I got this month. Oh well, I don’t go this crazy very often. I got at least 7 more figures on their way that should arrive by next week as well. If you’re interested in the loot, since I’m way behind on reviews, check out the rest of the post. Read More
My Desk & New Arrivals
Posted by Persocom on May 19, 2009 in Life, Misc | 20 comments

I just submitted this picture into the DannyChoo.com desk contest yesterday, probably late but I didn’t take it just for the contest. I’ve never done an actual full collection/desk picture before that I can remember, so I thought I’d go ahead and enter the contest at the last minute, and get some new pictures while I’m at it. Of course, not only did I enter the contest perhaps too late to make a difference, but my batteries died. On top of that, I didn’t get all my figures into the desk for the first picture. So today Riiana picked up some new ones and I got more pictures, and better ones. A couple new figures arrived today as well, so I’ll be doing new reviews soon. Well, read on if you want to see more of my collection, my dakimakura with the pillow in it, and maybe even a mug shot or two. Read More
Kanako Ohno 1/8 PVC by GoodSmile Company

Recently I acquired this older figure (originally released May of 2006) from Ebay, probably the worst place to buy figures in the entire world. The price, location of seller and 100% positive feedback was what convinced me to buy. The seller lived in the same state as me and free shipping. I paid $24.99 for Kanako, although she’s used and there’s a few spots where you can tell. She’s got the AAA sticker and the shiny sticker on the box to prove she’s not a fake. Kanako Ohno is from the manga/anime series Genshiken (which I thoroughly enjoyed), and she’s a cosplay fanatic. Ever since I saw the 2 seasons and OVA of Genshiken I’ve wanted a figure of her, but I never got around to finding one I liked in stock in stores. Go figure right after I bought her they restocked her at Hobby Search, where I usually get my figures from. Still, I’m happy to own her and especially at such a low price, even if she’s not in perfect condition. Anyways, on to the review. Slightly ecchi warning: cleavage and removable skirt ahead, but no actual nudity. Read More
Tsuki-Board

I’ve been meaning to write something up about Tsuki-Board for quite some time now, but I just never got around to it. I figure it’s due time I talk about the site though, since the site is celebrating it’s first birthday. I know many of you are already Tsuki-Board members and most likely on my friends list there too, but for those of you who haven’t heard of Tsuki-Board I’ll explain it a little. Tsuki-Board was created by kumasanmk a year ago, and has grown into a huge community since then. You can find almost any figure old or new on there, add it to your collection, your wish list or your pre-order list, rank the figures you own, submit and view pictures of figures, write or read reviews and much more. In fact today I just learned that one of my suggestions of a widget for bloggers was used and it’s available for everyone to use! Tsuki-Board continues to improve and grow frequently and if you are a figure collector I urge you to check it out! I use it to track pre-orders, hunt down figures and share pictures with others so they can see more than just a preview image, it’s also helped me network with other bloggers that I wouldn’t have found otherwise. For those of you who want to get further involved there are also various clubs, from FigmaAddicts, to Collection & Figure Tips, to the one I run called Hatsune Miku Fan, and of course everything in between. You can take part in discussions and make suggestions for the site like I did. They have a cute mascot named Tsuko-tan and a variety of banners for people who want to show them love on their site/blog, not to mention this awesome new widget that works great! If you’re already a member and unsure of how to find the new widgets, it’s under the My Home section, underneath your normal tabs. Here’s a few examples, of course color/size/etc can be modified:

Today I’ll be reviewing MM ( えむえむ) 1/8 PVC by Max Factory. That’s her official name, but I prefer to call her Emu Emu (which is how you pronounce えむえむ), though I’ll be simplifying her name to MM for this review. She comes from the manga/anime Kemeko Deluxe! She was released in June of 2008, and meant to go along with the Nendoroid Plus: Kemeko. I found her at Robert’s Anime Corner Store for $67.48 though it looks like she’s out of stock now. I really wanted to get the Nendo Kemeko to go with because they combine, but I haven’t been able to find her anywhere yet. I’m going to keep looking though. Read More
