Marisa Kirisame Figma
Posted by Persocom on Jul 17, 2010 in Figure Review | 21 comments

Gensokyo resident witch Marisa Kirisame recently (*cough* back in April) released as a Figma by Max Factory. Of course, being a bit of a Touhou Project fanatic (not to mention I’m fond of witches) I had to pre-order her the minute she went up at Otacute. She’s not too easy to buy now though, and I really don’t know of any store that is currently taking orders for her. You might have to do a little bit of searching if you want her. I know this is the first Touhou Figma that I’ll be reviewing, but I do already own Reimu. Due to having a backdrop that I wanted to use already sitting around I found it easier to give Marisa her time in the spotlight first. Marisa is the most frequently seen Touhou Project character next to Reimu, so it’s only fair that she be the second Touhou Figma released. I promise I’ll do a Reimu review soon. So, do you believe in magic? Read More
Nendoroid Sanae Kochiya
Posted by Persocom on May 22, 2010 in Figure Review | 17 comments

Sanae Kochiya comes from Touhou Project, and she is the wind priestess and shrine maiden to Moriya Shrine. She made her first appearance in Touhou 10: Mountain of Faith, and has appeared in 4 other official Touhou games as a playable character or a boss. This is the Nendoroid by GoodSmile Company, and I purchased her from Otacute. I’m quite happy with my purchase, as they even included a some little GoodSmile racing decals in the package for free. The best thing is she was fairly priced, though the shipping brought her to a total of about $65. Still fair considering she’s not in-stock and it might take a bit of hunting to find her now, unless they get more in. Sanae is my first Touhou Nendoroid, and boy do I regret not having gotten the first two, considering how much I love this one, as well as Touhou itself. Click to see the full review! Read More
Happy New Year! 2010
Posted by Persocom on Jan 1, 2010 in Life | 14 comments

Just doing a quick post to wish everyone a very safe and Happy New Year in 2010. Perhaps I’ll do a post looking back at 2009 later on. But rather than look behind right now I want to look forward, every step we take now leads us into our future, and we can only imagine what it holds for us. I want to thank everyone once again for visiting this blog, no matter what reason you have for coming here. I will do my best to improve upon everything that I do and wish that all of you do your best as well! May this be a great year for anime, manga and figures for all! I’m going to try to do different things around here in the coming months. Let’s see where this year takes us! If you’re wondering the girl pictured is Shou Toramaru from Touhou 12: Undefinable Fantastic Object, and the art is made by 9時 from pixiv, check it out for some really awesome art. Since it’s the year of the tiger I’ll most likely be featuring Shou again. I’ll get back to the real posts real soon.

Flandre Scarlet 1/8 PVC coming late February!
Posted by Persocom on Nov 11, 2009 in Figures | 12 comments

Very recently I found out that Griffon Enterprises were making a Flandre Scarlet 1/8 PVC figure via MyFigureCollection.net. Yesterday De JaY informed me that she was up for pre-order up at AmiAmi for 18% off, and I immediately sprung on the opportunity. I know I don’t normally post these type of posts, because I don’t consider my blog a source of figure release news in any form or way, but I’m too excited about this figure to not post about it. For quite some time I’ve been wishing that I could get my hands on a full scale Flandre, or at the very least a jointed one. From the prototype pictures I’m quite happy with the way they decided to make her. I might actually order her sister Remilia now that I know I can have them side by side. The only figure I’ve been this excited about in a while is Black Rock Shooter, which has been delayed since August, and I’ve been disheartened by the further delay enough that I’ve lost the excitement, at least until I see the preparing for shipment notice in my inbox. Anyways, I’ve been planning a few Touhou posts but never got around to them, now is as good a time as any.

I know I’ve been away from this blog for over a month now, for various reasons, but it’s time for me to get this back up and running and what better way then to celebrate one of me favorite holidays! I recently acquired nendoroid Raspberyl and while we were carving a pumpkin I decided to get Melissa Seraphy, Pixie Hiyori and a couple others to make guest appearances. I’ll be doing the actual review of Raspberyl soon. Since last year I didn’t do a post for Halloween I wasn’t going to let it slip by unnoticed again this year! Of course, this post is a bit late seeing as it’s nearing November first as I write this, but what can I say we took our son out trick-or-treating and haven’t gotten home until just a bit ago. Anyways I’m not going to write a big wall of text or a story but instead share the pictures I took today. Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween! Read More
