Yuki Nagato Ero Gamer Ver. Puchi Nendoroid

I received this figure last week, been getting behind on posting a bit. This version of Yuki is basically a puchi Nendoroid (though I really can’t be sure if it’s official or not) and she comes with book #3 of “The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-Chan” limited edition. I bought her from Hobby Search for a mere 1,600 Yen. The shipping was 1,860 Yen putting the total price at 3,460. Not a bad price I must say. The book itself includes Furigana for people who have problems reading Kanji. This is a super cute figure and my favorite character from the Haruhi franchise (now know as the Endless Eight franchise?). So, if you’re a fan of little figures or Yuki, you can pick this up for a low price, though she’s sold out at Hobby Search. Read on for more pictures and a short review.

Yuki Nagato Gekisou Ver. 1/8 PVC

Yuki Nagato Gekisou Ver. 1/8 PVC by Max Factory arrived here a few days ago. I ordered her from Hobby Search for 7,057 Yen. Of course, she is already sold out there at the time of writing up this post, so you’ll have to look elsewhere or wait for a re-release if you’re interested in this figure. Again, Yuki Nagato is from the ultra-popular anime/manga/novel The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, though she hardly needs an introduction. She’s also the third figure in the Gekisou series. This is my first actual PVC and non-action figure of Yuki, and it’s got to be one of the best on the market. I could be biased though, she’s my favorite character from the anime. Read on for more pictures and a full review!

Yuki Nagato – My First Figma

Continuing on from the previous post, today I’m semi-reviewing another one of my first figures. This time around it’s my first Figma, and this marks my first PVC figure and also the figure that I personally regard as my first true figure as well. It was on a cloudy day last year that she arrived in my mailbox, and today was a cloudy day too. Yuki Nagato, from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was the figure that started my obsession with figure collecting. Ink-Eyes couldn’t compare with the excitement I had when I got my first Figma. Joints didn’t bother me, in fact the articulation of Figma is what drew me in the most. I was all too paranoid about the joints, the hand pieces and everything about it at first though. I was afraid to break her, this wasn’t like the action figures I collected as a child. I recall, back then I didn’t know many stores and I pretty much bought from the US ones because I was afraid of overseas shipping and delivery times, so she was bought from Kid Nemo. I’ve stopped buying from Kid Nemo after some dissapointments with orders not working out, but back then I loved them.

Yuki Nagato Evil Witch Ver. Figma

I got Yuki Nagato Evil Witch Ver. Figma a couple days ago now, but I just didn’t find time to write up a review until now. Just in case there’s someone who doesn’t know who she is, she’s from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I ordered her from my trusted favorite store, Hobby Search. Alright, now since that’s out of the way it’s time to talk about her.

First off, this version of Yuki comes with a load of extras. You have 14 hands in total. 2 magic wands, 1 guitar with strap, 1 cat, 2 tea cups, 1 tea pot, 1 cat, the mage hat and cloak, a sign with 4 stickers (2 different ones, with two each of them), and an extra cloak piece. Alright now to break it all down. The cloak is made of hard plastic, so it’s not like the skirts and other parts of figmas that are usually flexible. The cloak also comes apart, it’s in two separate pieces, as you can see in the pictures. One piece allows for somewhat of free movement of only one arm, the other covers one arm, and the third piece allows for somewhat of free movement in the other arm. I’ll tell you now, the cloak is a pain in the ass. There is a hole in the back of the cloak, but the cloak snaps in two pieces, this hole is where the stand goes through and into Yuki’s back. Trying to align the hole can be a problem. Trying to get her head on her after putting the cloak on can be a problem. It’s just a slight annoyance though, nothing that I haven’t already gotten over. It was a bit frustrating at first. Her hat doesn’t really snap in place but I don’t have problems with it falling off too much. It’s got a groove in it sort of to help it rest in place, it’s just not very secure. The guitar is cool, although it doesn’t have strings on it, which some people might not like. It makes sense not to have them on it though. The magic wand is thin and looks easily breakable, which I assume is why you get an extra one. It has it’s own special hand to hold the wand with. Not too much to say about the tea set and cat, aside from the cat’s tail doesn’t move. I like how she’s in the school uniform without her cardigan on. With all the extras she’s really fun, you just gotta get used to the cloak. I prefer her with it though and she looks great with my other figmas. I hope they release Haruhi in her bunny outfit to go with this one, and maybe a maid Mikuru, but I’m not so sure they’ll do it with all the Haruhi figmas that they’ve already made. Keep your fingers crossed or whatever it is you do if you’re a Haruhi fan, it’s still quite possible. Anyways, overall she was a bit harder to work with than other figma, but she is so loaded with extras that she’s worth it. She’s especially worth getting if you’re a fan of Yuki Nagato herself. I, myself, am definitely a fan. This will be the second Yuki figure I own now, along with the original (and very first ever if I’m correct) Figma.

Book not included with this version of Yuki, it came with the original. Haruhi also not included. I had originally only intended on doing a normal review but I felt like playing a little. For anyone who might be reading my blog regularly, what would you like to see more of? Do you like my surprise appearances? I’m still pretty new to blogging so I’d like your opinions. When I do my little review things, would you like more pictures or more information? Just looking for a little feedback so I can take note for future posts. Hope you enjoy!

Figures and Wall Scrolls

So I’m still awake at almost 1 AM and I figure I’d just throw some random photos up to get started and link you to my figure collection. I’ve only recently began collecting anime related character figures, mainly because of the discovery of Figma which I will be posting pictures of the two I currently own on here. Of course, I have to give credit to DannyChoo because if I hadn’t found his awesome site while looking for information on Japan I wouldn’t even have become a figure collector. I always admired figures when I saw them but the price and the practicality turned me off, because normal figures aren’t poseable like a figma is, and the prices are so high for something that can only sit on your shelf or desk and look pretty. Of course I will admit there are plenty of figures I’ve got my eyes on that aren’t figmas, but figmas are what I’m the most excited about. So far I have only Yuki Nagato and Haruhi Suzumiya but as you’ll see from my collection I have a few more pre-ordered. I’m really looking forward to the Miku Hatsune figma the most of all I think. Still no word on when it’ll be out though. Alright enough talk, here’s some pictures of my current collection which is just starting out.

Yuki Nagato & Haruhi Suzumiya

Also, a non-figma that you could expect from someone going by Persocom-san if you’ve any idea what a persocom is. Chobits very own Chi. You’ll have to bare with me, I’m not very talented at taking pictures of figures yet, I’m only used to shooting scenery and people, and I’m only using a digital camera. I didn’t bother photoshopping these yet to make them look better so you’re left with the raw photos. Chi on the top, Haruhi and Yuki on the bottom.

I’ll definately work on my figure photography skills more, and keep updating when I do take new pictures. I suppose now I’ll show you my small collection of wall scrolls? Recently I got sick of posters because they end up beat up and torn so easily, especially when moving. Wall scrolls are so much better because they roll up easy, don’t need tape, staples, tacks or nails in them, and the material is thicker and sturdier than plain poster paper. Wall scrolls for the win! I kept the box from one that I ordered online for storage. I only have two so far but one more should be showing up in the mail within the week.

Well then I guess that’s enough for this entry. Goodnight!
